Purpose: This study was aimed to assess the effectiveness of traditional Chinese medicine fumigation on diabetic peripheral neuropathy.

Fumigation¡± OR "Fumination¡± AND "Nursing¡± OR "Nurse¡±, the language was limited to Chinese and English. Meta-analysis
was performed using Cochrane Review Manager software 5.3 based on Mantel-Haenszel (M-H) bandwidth, 95% Confidence interval, the quality evaluation was used by Cochrane Risk of Bias.
Results: Chinese medicine fumigation was effective in improving the symptoms of lower extremity, pain, and coldness in diabetic peripheral neuropathy patients(RR=1.29, 95% CI: 1.11, 1.49). The diabetes symptom score was reduced by more than 30% before treatment(RR=1.27, 95% CI: 1.15, 1.42). The neurotransmission rate was increased by more than 2m/s(R=1.42, 95% CI: 1.24, 1.62). It was found to be ineffective in improving the quality of sleep.
Conclusion: Based on the results of this study, it is recommended that Chinese medicine fumigation is applied to diabetic peripheral neuropathy patients.
